Earlier this week I shared a layout with a heart sunburst design. To create that layout I cut a large heart out of the center of a patterned paper. Today I'm going to share the layout I created using the leftover paper that the heart was cut out of.
If you missed the first layout you can find it here: One Patterned Paper, Two Layouts: Layout #1
The second layout is a little more simple and took about half as much time to create as the first one.

Whenever I am cutting a large die cut with my Silhouette I will almost always cut it from the center of my paper with the intention that I will be left with a cut out scrap that I can use on future layouts. I'm a scrap hoarder and this leaves me with a scrap that is definitely re-usable.
For this layout I adhered the patterned paper to a piece of 12 x 12" white cardstock. With the design, I basically added my photos and then clustered my title, embellishments, and journaling around them.

I went with a "sweet" theme and used a combination of cardstock hearts and sweet treats stickers like cupcakes and ice cream from the Simple Stories "Happy Hearts" collection.

To add some texture and detail to the cardstock hearts I added a hand-stitched border around most of them. I also added a stitched border around the large heart.

To help my journaling strips stand out a little more since they are printed on white cardstock I added a pink mat to each one.
