Sometimes when I design a layout or sketch I start by picking out the photos I want to use, arrange them in the middle of the layout with equal internal margins, and then I figure out a design that frames the edges. It's a super easy way to design and ensure that your photos are center stage.
With this layout I used lots and lots of small hexagons and created clusters of them around the photos.
There are two larger clusters in opposite corners that highlight the title and journaling block. Then there are two smaller accent clusters in the remaining corners.
I will forever love using hexagons in groupings like this! It's such a fun shape to play with and are easy to mold to different designs. I especially love adding smaller, popped up hexagons, some hand-stitching, and a few shapes that go with theme for added interest and detail within the design.
