Scrapbook Design Idea | Framing the Edge of a Large Shape w/ a Large Cluster

Writer: AllisonAllison

I love all things lemon so I super love it when companies make lemon heavy designs. I especially loved this one from Simple Stories! It's gorgeous!!

Supplies used - Cardstock: American Crafts; Patterned papers and die cuts: Simple Stories; Lemon cut file: Silhouette Design Store 268711; Embroidery floss: DMC; Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink; Computer font: Century Gothic

For this layout, I started with the large lemon die cut and backed it with various patterned papers. Then I adhered it offset on my layout. I wanted to have some room for the large cluster so moving it off to the left was ideal.

Then to build the cluster I used my tried and true method of cluster-creation. I started with the larger pieces first and laid them out. Some are tucked under the lemon and some are on top.

Once I was happy with the placement of the larger pieces, then I started adding in some medium pieces and the flowers and leaves.

After that I added some smaller accent pieces like the bees and butterflies and the hearts.

Then my final, tiny detail was adding some Nuvo Jewel Drops in Limoncello.

This one would be fun to recreate with other circle themes - beach balls, Christmas ornaments, sports balls, tires, etc.
