Have you ever tried using a card sketch to create a layout? If you haven't, you should! It's a great way to exercise that creative brain and you never know the interesting designs you could come up with!
Today I'm sharing a layout I made based on one of the four card sketches I made for the Spring issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today.
First, here is the card sketch that I used as a my starting point.

Card sketches are great for inspiring unique details or design ideas and all you have to do is work in some photos. For my layout I used the idea of the flowers clustered across the seam of two papers.

I used a mixture of flowers, leaves, and fruit slices to create this large cluster, just like the cluster of flowers on the card.

I added some hand-stitched detail through the pieces in this cluster and of course, lots of foam adhesive for some dimension.

My title ends up falling in pretty much the same position as the sentiment on the card.

The card sketch has a lot of open space to the left of the cluster and above the sentiment so that seemed like the perfect spot for my photos and journaling.

I challenge you to try using a card sketch to create a layout! You never know what fun designs you might come across that you wouldn't have though to do on a layout.
