Sketch Support #39 | Learn How to Use and Adapt Scrapbook Sketches | Day 3

Once a month learn how to use scrapbook sketches and adapt them to fit different styles, photo sizes, and themes. Sketches = endless scrapbooking ideas with little effort. Sketches do all the heavy lifting allowing you to have all the fun!

The last layout of Sketch Support always shows how you can adapt the sketch to work for a different size of layout. Since the sketch is a one-page, I used it as the starting point for a two-page layout.

Here is the one-page sketch:

This month it is a 3-page PDF of 23 different sketch options. That makes 24 sketches for this month of Sketch Support. There are options that show how to change up the papers, use more photos, use less photos, there are four two-page options, and then an 8-1/2 x 11" option. The fun part is that you could use each option as a layout on its own, but you could also mix and match different options for endless possibilities!

Supplies used - Cardstock, patterned paper, stickers, and die cuts: American Crafts; Chipboard emojis: Simple Stories; Acrylic stars: Color Cast Designs; Embroidery floss: DMC; Computer font: Century Gothic

I actually stayed very close to the original one-page sketch design with this one!

First I stretched the design across both pages while also swapping out the scallop strips for zig zag strips. I was back and forth a lot of if I wanted to do the scallop strips or not, but eventually settled on the zig zag strips instead.

I've got one 4 x 6" photo on the left page that follows the sketch placement and then the rest of my photo are arranged in a row and tucked into the zig zag design.

For my embellishments I mostly used these large flower frame die cut pieces and then I added some chipboard emojis in the center. The title piece I used has several flowers on it so I felt like adding more into the layout design would be a good way to tie it all together.

I finished it all with some word/phrase stickers and acrylic stars.

That's all for today! Check back on Monday, I'll be sharing the YouTube version of Sketch Support!
