Once a month learn how to use scrapbook sketches and adapt them to fit different styles, photo sizes, and themes. Sketches = endless scrapbooking ideas with little effort. Sketches do all the heavy lifting allowing you to have all the fun!
The Sketch Support fun starts today! That means a new free sketch, three new layouts based on the sketch, a YouTube video, and of course the bonus sketch examples!
This new one-page sketch is going to go down as one of my all-time favorites!
Here is the one-page sketch that I'll be using this week:

You can also grab the Sketch Support #42 Bonus Sketch Examples!

This month it is a 3-page PDF of 23 different sketch options. That makes 24 sketches for this month of Sketch Support. There are options that show how to change up the papers, use more photos, use less photos, there are four two-page options, and then an 8-1/2 x 11" option. The fun part is that you could use each option as a layout on its own, but you could also mix and match different options for endless possibilities!

Supplies used - Cardstock, patterned paper, die cuts, and puffy stickers: Hip Kit Club February 2025 Kits; Heart punch: Recollections; Computer font: Century Gothic; Embroidery floss: DMC
Variation #1 - Simplify the sketch.
I instantly fell in love with that heart patterned paper from Hip Kit Club and it became the inspiration for this layout design. I cut the patterned paper into vertical strips and used those in place of the small 1/4" angled strips on the sketch.

This is such an easy way to simplify this sketch design, by simply using larger strips in place of the smaller strips on the sketch.

I also added some hand-stitched detail to the hearts on the pattern paper. The paper has a color fade from pink to yellow to a really light orange and I matched that with the embroidery floss colors I used.

For the rest of the layout, I followed the sketch almost exactly! My photos are slightly different, but with the mats ended up being almost the same size so no adjusts were needed.

You can also watch a process video of this layout coming together and get a glimpse at how to approach this sketch design.
